Resumo:The roads are essential in the development of cities around the world, being important in the transport of food, fuel and many other services. In Brazil, highway transportation is the main mode of transportation, be it cargo or passengers. However, while civil construction is directly responsible for the construction and expansion of roads, the sector is also responsible for the generation of Construction and Demolition Waste (CDW). The generation of this waste, when not disposed of correctly, causes a great impact on the environment. Aiming at sustainability, the engineering sector that emerge as an alternative for the use of CDW, through recycled aggregates, is urban and road pavements. The present study has the objective of evaluating, in a qualitative way, the functionality of a section of a pavement with recycled aggregate. The stretch which is 46 meters long, is located on Rua José Miranda da Silva, in Natal. The evaluation was based on the analysis of the pathologies, described in the DNIT 005/20003 standard. The results indicate that the use of recycled aggregates in flexible pavements appears as an important option for the use natural resources, since the evaluated section presented a good functionality, guaranteeing comfort and safety.
