Resumo: | The objective of this study is to analyze the effect of cytopathological examination coverage, time between diagnosis and treatment and advanced staging on the cervical cancer mortality rate in Brazil. The dependent variable was the cervical cancer mortality rate between the years 2009 and 2019. As
independent variables: coverage of cytopathological examination, proportion of late diagnoses and the time elapsed between the date of diagnosis and the start of treatment. A linear regression model was used for panel data (panel data analysis), considering the 27 units of the federation of Brazil as the unit of analysis and year as the time variable. The cervical cancer mortality rate in Brazil showed a subtle reduction in the analyzed period. Furthermore, from the results of the bivariate analysis, it can be inferred that the independent variables did not show a statistically significant relationship with the outcome. It concludes that there was no considerable improvement in the indicators related to the coverage of cytopathological examination, late diagnosis and the time elapsed between the date of diagnosis and the start of treatment, and even so, it did not impact the mortality rate. |
