Descrição
Resumo:Adult T-Cell Leukemia/Lymphoma (ATLL) is a malignant chronic lymphoproliferative disease that affects mature TCD4+ lymphocytes that presents a peculiar pathogenesis, is etiologically related to the Human T-Lymphotropic Virus (HTLV-1). The diagnosis of ATLL is based on the characterization of mature T-cell neoplasia through morphological and immunophenotypic evaluation of peripheral blood, related to serological or molecular positivity for HTLV-1. The present study aims to evaluate the immunophenotypic profile of patients with ATLL through the immunophenotyping method by flow cytometry, in addition to the cytomorphological analysis, evidencing the Flower Cells present, evaluations in peripheral blood distensions stained by the May Grunwald Giemsa method. The collected data show a characteristic immunophenotypic profile with TCD3+/CD4+/CD8- lymphocytes, CD25 and other markers that help in the characterization of patients with ATLL, presenting isolated cases with TCD3+/CD4+/CD8+ lymphocytes and greater numbers of 5% of Flower Cell than with positivity for HTLV-1 characterize ATLL.
