Resumo: | Antimicrobials were and continue to be very important for humanity, since they
managed to reduce deaths caused by diseases caused by microorganisms. However,
the use of these drugs was inadequate, which generated resistance on the part of
these living beings and made the use of some drugs unfeasible at present, hence the
importance of developing new drug therapies against these organisms. The andiroba
is a tree that is very present in the Amazon region and was already used by the
indigenous people of that town for various therapeutic purposes. Some studies sought
to investigate part of these medicinal properties. However, these studies had not
worked with the fixed oil of the plant, and few addressed the antimicrobial effect.
Because of this, the use of nanotechnology was considered to develop a nanoemulsion
with andiroba oil. Therefore, the objective of this work was to develop and characterize
a nanoemulsion formulation containing fixed andiroba oil filtered by a low shear
technique, through phase inversion. The prepared formulation was characterized by
analyzing the particle diameter, the Polydispersion Index, the Zeta Potential and the
Hydrogen Ionic Potential. In fact, it was possible to develop a stable nanoemulsion, in
addition to characterizing the concentration of oil and the proportion of surfactants
suitable for its use. |
