description This Course Completion Work deals with a study on domestic violence against children and adolescents, bringing to the discussion the work of Social Work in the face of this expression of the social issue. Its general objective is to investigate domestic violence against children and adolescents and its socio-historical determinants, in order to understand and analyze the challenges and strategies of social worker actions in the face of this violence in the perspective of realizing the right to social protection, especially in times of neoliberal advance, where there is a scrapping of policies aimed at children and adolescents. It also addresses the guarantee of the rights of children and adolescents, bringing to the discussion the Statute of Children and Adolescents - ECA, which was configured as an important milestone in the recognition of these individuals as subjects of rights, since before the ECA, this individuals were not treated as citizens, being removed from their rights. The analyzes and reflections carried out from the documental and bibliographical research built an understanding about the challenges faced by the social worker in face of this expression of the social issue. The resurgence of neoliberalism is reflected in the work of Social Work, bringing as challenges to the profession, the lack of an adequate environment for care, the non-recognition of Social Work attributions by other professionals, as well as the difficulties faced in the face of the lack of policies. effective public policies to combat domestic violence against children and adolescents, which prevent the professional from being able to deal with the demands. Such difficulties reveal to Social Work the need to reaffirm its professional attributions, as well as to position itself critically, in defense of the working class, always guided by ethical-political, theoretical-methodological and technical-operative dimensions.

O presente Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso trata de um estudo sobre a violência doméstica contra crianças e adolescentes, trazendo para a discussão o trabalho do Serviço Social frente a essa expressão da questão social. Tem como objetivo geral investigar a violência doméstica infanto-juvenil e seus determinantes sócio-históricos, visando compreender e analisar os desafios e as estratégias de ações do assistente social face a esta violência na perspectiva de efetivação do direito a proteção social, principalmente em tempos de avanço neoliberal, onde há um sucateamento das políticas voltadas para a criança e adolescente. Aborda também sobre a garantia dos direitos da criança e do adolescente, trazendo para a discussão o Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente – ECA, que se configurou como marco importante no reconhecimento desses indivíduos como sujeitos de direitos, uma vez que anterior ao ECA, esses indivíduos não eram tratados como cidadãos, sendo afastados dos seus direitos. As análises e reflexões realizadas a partir da pesquisa documental e bibliográfica construíram uma compreensão acerca dos desafios enfrentados pelo assistente social frente a essa expressão da questão social. O recrudescimento do neoliberalismo, reflete no trabalho do Serviço Social, trazendo como desafios à profissão, a falta de um ambiente adequado para atendimento, o não reconhecimento das atribuições do Serviço Social por outros profissionais, bem como as próprias dificuldades enfrentadas diante da falta de políticas públicas efetivas para o combate da violência doméstica contra crianças e adolescentes, que impedem que o profissional consiga lidar com as demandas.
