| Resumo: | In this work, we tried to discuss the process of environmental licensing of wind farms in
Brazil and Rio Grande do Norte. The objective was centered on the survey of the
environmental legislation for the licensing of wind power plants at the federal and state
levels. The work was built from a bibliographical review, of an exploratory nature, and it
can be said that it is a descriptive study, since it has as its object of study sources already
available in the main databases. During the study, the negative environmental impacts
suffered by the environment in the face of wind farms were highlighted, as well as the
licensing process. Environmental licensing appears not only as a bureaucratic step to be
overcome, it is necessary to evaluate the way in which environmental licensing is being
carried out, in order to minimize socio-environmental impacts while allowing the return
on financial investment. |
