Resumo:The constant evolution of humankind has caused large cities to develop remarkably, invading locations previously made of native vegetation and causing the amount of urban green areas to decrease considerably over the years. Nonetheless, green areas are extremely important for a city's quality of living and their maintenance is essential so that these places offer benefits and do not generate losses in the daily life of its population.. The Natal Urban Services Company - URBANA is responsible for the maintenance of most of the green areas in the city of Natal and needs to perform this function in the most efficient way. This work has the objective of mapping and identifying the profile of green areas that are under the responsibility of URBANA, in a way that facilitates their maintenance so that they generate as many benefits as possible for the city and its inhabitants. Visits were made to each study area to collect relevant information for mapping. The results showed that less economically developed urban regions stood out in the amount of green areas, while regions with greater economic power registered a smaller number of identified locations.
