Resumo:Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic non-communicable disease of metabolic character that is directly linked to the high levels of sugar present in the blood of an individual. This disease can be classified as basically two types: I and II. The pharmaceutical assistance service of ProSUS Natal/ RN, promotes, among other activities, the dispensing of slow-acting and fast-acting insulin analogues, in addition to insulin inputs, for diabetic patients registered in their programs. However, the increasing evolution of the number of new patients each year has brought alert to the program’s servers, who care about the quality of service. Knowing the progress of this disease allows the competent health agency, whether municipal public or not, to set goals and create plans to offer quality and dignified medicines and supplies for each of their patients, since intensive insulin therapy has become a vital option for each of them.
