description Endometriosis is a gynecological disease characterized by the presence and growth of endometrial-identical tissue outside the uterus, affecting about 10% of premenopausal women. With a variety of non-specific symptoms, in addition to the existence of asymptomatic patients, the diagnosis of endometriosis is challenging, which can delay its detection by up to 10 years and, therefore, delay the appropriate treatment, in addition to favoring the progression of the disease and the development of serious consequences such as tumors and infertility. This study aims to identify urinary biomarkers for early and less invasive diagnosis of endometriosis through an integrative literature review. Data collection was carried out from July to August 2022, using publications from the last 5 years found in the main databases (PubMed/MEDLINE, Portal de Periódicos Capes and SciELO), using descriptors with Boolean operators in the advanced search, as shown below: “Biomarkers” and “Endometriosis” and “Urine”. A total of 111 articles were found, but of these, only 10 articles were selected. In view of the results of the studies presented in this review, it is worth noting that most of the articles showed a positive correlation between the urinary biomarker studied and the presence of endometriosis, which could be used in the future as an alternative to improve the diagnosis, helping health professionals in the management of patients with endometriosis, in addition to mitigating the impact that this disease causes in the daily lives of patients and health services worldwide.

A endometriose é uma doença ginecológica caracterizada pela presença e crescimento de tecido idêntico ao endometrial fora do útero, afetando cerca de 10% das mulheres na pré-menopausa. Com uma variedade de sintomas inespecíficos, além da existência de pacientes assintomáticos, o diagnóstico da endometriose é desafiador, o que pode atrasar em até 10 anos a sua detecção e, portanto, adiar o tratamento adequado, além de favorecer a progressão da doença e o desenvolvimento de consequências graves como tumores e infertilidade. Este estudo tem por objetivo a identificação de biomarcadores urinários para diagnóstico precoce e menos invasivo da endometriose através de uma revisão integrativa da literatura. A coleta de dados foi realizada no período de julho a agosto de 2022, utilizando as publicações dos últimos 5 anos encontradas nas principais bases de dados (PubMed/MEDLINE, Portal de Periódicos Capes e SciELO), utilizando na pesquisa avançada os descritores com operadores booleanos, conforme apresentado a seguir: “Biomarkers” and “Endometriosis” and “Urine”. Foram localizados 111 artigos, porém desses, apenas 10 artigos foram selecionados.
