| Resumo: | This course conclusion work (TCC) aims to study the professional performance of social workers in urgency and emergency units, taking into account the challenges posed to the profession today, from the analysis of the UPA Maria Nazaré in Parnamirim/RN . Thus, the research methodology covered document analysis and bibliographic studies, in addition to having the experience of a mandatory internship, the report and field diaries, for the analysis of the UPA of Parnamirim/RN. The importance of the insertion of Social Service in emergency care units in the country is highlighted, since this health service receives demands, often repressed, that do not reach other health units and that go beyond the concept of health-disease using the ideal of expanded health defended by the Federal Constitution of 1988. In addition, it establishes the importance of professional performance committed to the ethical-political project and the principles established in the profession's code of ethics; acting in the ethical-political, technical-operative and theoretical-methodological dimensions of Social Work. |
