The number of patients with some type of disorder or diagnosed mental illness has
been growing exponentially and with this has aroused increasing interest, either among
health professionals and researchers, or among the most diverse segments of society.
Due to the COVID 19 pandemic and social isolation, this may have influenced mental
health and consequently the consumption of psychotropic drugs. The present study
aims to investigate whether there was a change in consumption considering the two
previous years and the two years of the COVID 19 pandemic, in addition to analyzing
the influence of the COVID 19 pandemic on the profile of use of psychotropic drugs in
the city of Caicó, describing the profile of users who use psychotropic drugs, in addition
to describing the quantitative and qualitative profile of these drugs. This is a descriptive,
cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach, carried out in health units that
dispense psychotropic drugs in the city of Caicó/RN, inthe period from 2018 to 2021.
For data analysis, reports present in the HORUS system, a tool of the Ministry of
Health, were used, which contains all the logistics data for the movement of medicines
and their correlates in the various public health establishments. With the data present
in these reports, six categories were identified that make up the present profile of
dispensing psychotropic drugs in Caicó, namely: Dispensing by number of people
served, Dispensing by sex of people served, Dispensing by therapeutic class,
Dispensing by therapeutic classes in months per year, Dispensing of drugs by
therapeutic class, Financial investment by therapeutic classes dispensed. With these
data, it was possible to select users who fit the profile of the study and apply a
questionnaire on their medical records, to form a databasein addition to graphs, charts
and tables. With the results obtained and tabulated using a SPSS v. 20 using
descriptive analysis: frequency and cross-reference table. With the compilation of the
data, the various impacts caused by the COVID 19 pandemic were observed, in all the
analysis of the study, causing a reduction in the consumption and dispensing of
psychotropics, also reducing the power of investmentin the acquisition of these drugs.
The study concluded that with the decrease in the consumption of psychotropic drugs
in the pandemic years, some users were left without access to the drug, or medical
assistance or even financial resources to purchase these drugs, and therefore their
health condition may have worsened. Therefore, it is relevant to carry out studies at
the local level to identify the reality regarding the verification of the rational use of these drugs, prevalence of use in the
population, especially in Primary Health Care, for the elaboration of coping strategies
in the perspective of promoting professional qualification and , ultimately, ensure
patient safety and quality of health care. In view of the results obtained, viable
strategies and recommendations were discussed for their implementation in Primary
Health Care in order to promote the rational use of psychotropic drugs, correlating to
the appropriate theoretical framework. |

O número de pacientes com algum tipo de transtorno ou doença mental diagnosticada, vem crescendo de forma exponencial e com isso vem despertando o interesse cada vez maior, seja entre os profissionais de saúde e pesquisadores, sejaentre os mais diversos segmentos da sociedade. Em virtude da pandemia da COVID 19 e do isolamento social, isso pode ter influenciado na saúde mental e consequentemente no consumo de psicotrópicos. O presente estudo tem como objetivo investigar se houve alteração no consumo considerando os dois anos anteriores e nos dois anos de pandemia da COVID 19, além de analisar a influência da pandemia da COVID 19 no perfil de uso de psicotrópicos no município de Caicó, descrevendo o perfil de usuários que fazem uso de psicotrópicos além de descrever o perfil quanti e qualitativo desses medicamentos. Trata-se de estudo descritivo, transversal, com abordagem quantitativa, realizado nas unidades de saúde quefazem dispensação de medicamentos psicotrópicos no município de Caicó/RN, no período que compreendeu os anos de 2018 até o ano de 2021. Para análise dos dados, foram utilizados relatórios presentes no sistema HÓRUS, ferramenta doMinistério da Saúde, que contém todos os dados de logística de movimentação de medicamentos e seus correlatos nos diversos estabelecimentos de saúde pública. Com os dados presentes nesses relatórios, foram identificadas seis categorias que compõem o presente perfil de dispensação de psicotrópicos em Caicó, sendo elas: Dispensação por quantidade de pessoas atendidas, Dispensação por sexo de pessoas atendidas, Dispensação por classe terapêutica, Dispensação por classes terapêuticas nos meses por ano, Dispensação dos medicamentos por classe terapêutica, Investimento financeiro por classes terapêuticas dispensadas. Com esses dados foi permitido a seleção dos usuários que se encaixam no perfil do estudo e aplicação de um questionário, sobre os prontuários dos mesmos, para formação de um banco de dados além de gráficos, quadros e tabelas. Com os resultados obtidos e tabulados utilizando uma rede de software SPSS v. 20 utilizando análises descritivas: frequência e tabela de referência cruzada. Com a compilação dos dados foram observados os diversos impactos provocados pela pandemia da COVID 19, em todas as análises do estudo, provocando redução no consumo e dispensação de psicotrópicos, diminuindo também o poder de investimento na aquisição desses fármacos. O estudo concluiu que com a diminuição no consumo de psicotrópicos nos anos pandêmicos alguns usuários ficaram sem acesso ao medicamento, ou a assistência médica ou até a recursos financeiros para aquisição desses medicamentos, e por isso podem ter tido sua condição de saúde agravada. Portanto, é relevante realizar estudos a nível local para identificar a realidade quanto a verificação do uso racional destes medicamentos, prevalência do uso na população, em especial a da Atenção Primáriaa Saúde para a elaboração de estratégias de enfrentamento na perspectiva de promover qualificação profissional e, em última instância, garantir a segurança do paciente e de qualidade da atenção à saúde.
