الوصف
الملخص:The product of this work is a didactic guide that provides teachers and students in elementary school with contact with themes related to local history. The proposal was made taking into account the experience with students who study in three schools (two public schools, one in Cidade Nova and another in Cidade da Esperança, both in Natal, and a private school in Nova Parnamirim). These spaces were selected to concretize the concept of place adopted here. The Guide is organized in themes, selected based on three criteria: the elements indicated in the National Curricular Base to be worked on in the 6th grade of elementary school; the contents present in the didact books used by the students; and the themes of local history directly associated with these two previous aspects. The guide is an innovation in that it articulates themes present in the didact books with themes related to the local area. It is a way to fill content gaps related to the places where students live that are not present in the didact books. It is also about working with contents related to the place without leaving aside the use of the textbook, an important tool in the teaching-learning process in Brazil. The idea is that the students will study themes related to the site as part of their course load in History. The Guide is a document capable of stimulating students' reflection, establishing comparisons between different times and spaces, contributing to the exercise of citizenship, an essential instrument for the consolidation of democracy.
