Descrição
Resumo:Dengue is a viral infection transmitted by mosquitoes with greater occurrence in countries located in tropical and subtropical areas. Environmental and socioeconomic conditions influence the incidence of dengue in a population. The objective of this study was to analyse the dynamics of dengue incidence in different neighbourhoods and regions of the city of Natal-RN and the influence of environmental and socioeconomic variables on this incidence between 2010 and 2019 (data from IBGE, INMET, and SEMURB). Our results show that: a) the east and west regions of Natal have a higher incidence of dengue; b) there are no clear trends in the temporal distribution of dengue incidence in the studied period; c) the meteorological variables precipitation and air humidity are significantly related to the incidence of dengue; d) the number of rainwater ponds is negatively related to the incidence of dengue by neighbourhood, on the other hand, the rate of sewage is positively correlated with the incidence of dengue.
