Resumo:The torque magnitude is present in several industrial sectors. The calibration of torque wrenches is directly related to the quality of manufactured products and the safety of manufacturing operations. Thus, it is evident the importance of researching calibration methods that have good reliability, economic viability and good service execution time. The present work aims to analyze the calibration method of torque wrenches using uniaxial load cell. Therefore, the alternative procedure was compared with the primary methodology for calibration of torque instruments. Then, the analysis of the sources of uncertainty involved in the process was carried out. For the results, it was observed that the sources of uncertainty specific to the analyzed method did not significantly impact the calibration. Regarding the calibration with masses of known value, the alternative method presented shorter execution time and gradual application of torque. In addition, the load cell calibration showed good reliability and low cost.
