Resumo:The school development composes one of the capital dimensions of progress in the globalized world. Among capable aspects to promote its reduction, the effects of social indicators have been pointed out represented by the socioeconomic aspects. As a way of measuring these effects, the current paper had as main objective to evaluate the outcome of different sociodemographic aspects of vulnerability in educational performance in Rio Grande do Norte state (RN). Therefore, a significant sample of 157 municipalities in the state were territorially evaluated. 4 multiple linear regression models were carried out to help analyze how the average scores in Portuguese and Math could be explained by predictors of sanitation, violence, inequality, childhood work, development (HDI), vulnerability. Every model made presents significance and explained between 20% to 26% of variance in school performance. The results reiterate the importance of public and educational policy capable to minimize low educational indicators evaluated territorially. Limitations and biases are discussed in the final stage of the study.
