| Resumo: | The Covid-19 pandemic affected the festivities alluding to Sant’Ana, patroness saint of the city of Currais Novos/RN, leading the event to undergo adaptations. The feast of Sant'Ana is part of the cultural and religious tourism of the city, it has
been a local tradition for more than two centuries. A party that spans generations, for the faith of its people and for the social festivities that are held during the month of July, becoming one of the biggest events in the city. In addition to the spiritual element, the party provides economic growth, generating direct and indirect jobs during the festive period, as well as the strengthening of commerce and its services. The said event is one the hallmarks of the Catholic Christian people Currais Novos, they are manifestations faith expressed through devotion to their patron saint, which even in the face the Covid-19 pandemic, did not fail to be held. The present academic work has as general objective to analyze the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on the Sant’Ana party in the city of Currais Novos/RN, during the years of 2020 and 2021. To carry out the research, several methodological procedures were used, including descriptive and explanatory research: research in documentary and bibliographic collection, field research, production of photographs and application of interviews with the organizers of the event. It was identified that several changes were made and that, even with established protocols, the tradition of celebrating Sant’Ana was not unnoticed, and the party took place. |
