The present thesis aims to apprehend the movement of determinations that involve
the current advance of conservatism and the "capture" of professional subjectivity in
the scope of contemporary Social Work to the detriment of professional work
according to the critical culture of the profession. To this end, we opted for dialectical
historical materialism as a research method and prioritized as a research strategy the
analysis and interpretation of bibliographic data related to this theme, based on the
delimitation of 35 articles published in the annals of the XVI Brazilian Congress of
Social Workers (CBAS) of the year 2019. For the analysis of the selected material,
we delimited the following analytical categories: precariousness of work; professional
work; ethical-political project and capital crisis. In a complementary way, we used
fragments of the interviews carried out within the scope of my master's research,
considering that certain issues needed to be explored in depth. The investigative
path of this research, therefore, was outlined from the revisiting of interviews with
social workers carried out in the years 2015/2016 as a starting point for our analyses.
Our assumption is that every time conservatism advances in Brazilian society, it
deepens fissures in the critical culture of Social Work, directly impacting the
legitimacy, interpretation, incorporation and materiality of the ethical-political project.
The research results made it possible to understand that this occurs from
determinations that make up the professional work, allocated as old questions, but
which assume new expressions in the current reality of expansion of
ultraconservatism added to ultraneoliberalism, which are objectified as strategic
outlets for capital in crisis. In addition, the deepening of the precariousness of work
implied in specific ways of “capturing” professional subjectivity, through some
particularities in the field of work of social workers, which were possible to identify
and address: difficulties in understanding the relationship between theory and
practice; fraying of the critical culture in favor of the real subsumption of professional
demands to institutional demands; expansion of conservative tendencies on the
ethical-political conception of the profession, which, ultimately, highlights the impacts
of this conjuncture on the dimensions of the profession: theoretical-methodological,
technical-operative and ethical-political. We have, therefore, an atmosphere of
tension in the dispute for the social direction of the professional answers, which
reflect the aggravation of the social question, the subjective difficulties of elaborating
the socio-historical critique of capitalist social relations and the implications of
conservatism and the crisis of capital in organization and recognition of the rights of
the working class. But, if we identify that professional subjectivity is not a dome
indifferent to the time of material and ideological decay, it is also not something
uniform. In the confrontation between professional projects, subjectivities captured by
the dominant logic and ethos and subjectivities that participate and strengthen
resistance processes coexist. The ongoing regressive trend poses daily challenges
to the critical culture of Brazilian Social Work in line with the defense of the
economic, political and cultural interests of the working class. |

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES A presente tese tem como objetivo apreender o movimento das determinações que envolvem o avanço atual do conservadorismo e da “captura” da subjetividade profissional no âmbito do Serviço Social contemporâneo em detrimento do trabalho profissional de acordo com a cultura crítica da profissão. Para tanto, optamos pelo materialismo-histórico dialético como método de pesquisa e priorizamos como estratégia de investigação a análise e interpretação de dados bibliográficos relacionados a essa temática, a partir da delimitação de 35 artigos publicados nos anais do XVI Congresso Brasileiro de Assistentes Sociais (CBAS) do ano de 2019. Para a análise do material selecionado, delimitamos as seguintes categorias analíticas: precarização do trabalho; trabalho profissional; projeto ético-político e crise do capital. De forma complementar, utilizamos fragmentos das entrevistas realizadas no âmbito da minha pesquisa de mestrado, tendo em vista que certas questões careciam de aprofundamento. O caminho investigativo desta pesquisa, portanto, foi sendo delineado a partir da revisitação às entrevistas com assistentes sociais realizadas nos anos de 2015/2016 como ponto de partida para nossas análises. Nosso pressuposto é de que toda vez que o conservadorismo avança na sociedade brasileira, ele aprofunda fissuras na cultura crítica do Serviço Social, impactando diretamente na legitimidade, interpretação, incorporação e materialidade do projeto ético-político. Os resultados da pesquisa possibilitaram apreender que isto ocorre a partir de determinações que compõem o trabalho profissional, alocadas como velhas questões, mas que assumem novas expressões na realidade atual de expansão do ultraconservadorismo somado ao ultraneoliberalismo, que se objetivam como saídas estratégicas para o capital em crise. Ademais, o aprofundamento da precarização do trabalho implicou em formas específicas de “captura” da subjetividade profissional, por meio de algumas particularidades no campo do trabalho das assistentes sociais, as quais foram possíveis identificar e transcorrer sobre: dificuldades no entendimento da relação teoria e prática; esgarçamento da cultura crítica em prol da subsunção real das demandas profissionais às demandas institucionais; ampliação das tendências conservadoras sobre a concepção éticopolítica da profissão, o que, em última instância, evidencia os impactos dessa conjuntura nas dimensões da profissão: teórico-metodológica, técnico-operativa e ético-política. Temos, portanto, um ambiente de tensão na disputa pela direção social das respostas profissionais, que refletem o agravamento da questão social, as dificuldades subjetivas de elaboração da crítica sócio-histórica às relações sociais capitalistas e as implicações do conservadorismo e da crise do capital na organização e no reconhecimento dos direitos da classe trabalhadora. Mas, se identificamos que a subjetividade profissional não é uma redoma indiferente ao tempo de decadência material e ideológica, não é também algo uniforme. No confronto entre projetos profissionais, convivem subjetividades capturadas pela lógica e ethos dominante e subjetividades que participam e fortalecem processos de resistência.
