Resumo: | The present dissertation talks about one of the main problems of Philosophy – since its origins
until the contemporaneity: its relationship with Myth and Poetry. In order to comprehend the
connection between Myth, Poetry and Philosophy (that many see as opposites), we will show,
through the romantic vision, that they are inseparable. Therefore, we will present an overview
of the romantic spirit, as well as we will analyze the philosophical foundation of the Poetry of
one of the forerunners of the movement, William Blake, by Reading some of his poems, among
them, those contained in his work The Marriage of Heaven and Hell (2009a), opening a
dialogue between Poetry and Philosophy from the concepts of Truth, Imagination and Reason.
We will also show the inseparable union between Poetry and Knowledge. For this, we will
make use of modern philosophical and poetic thought, more precisely at the time in which the
poet was situated, period that provides us with a better understanding of his critique of
exacerbated rationalism and its consequences. |
