Como a pandemia de COVID-19 impactou a vida de crianças com Transtorno do Desenvolvimento da Linguagem?
description Objective: to analyze and describe the impact that the interruption of speech therapy, due to social distancing in the COVID-19 pandemic, can have on the language development of children with Developmental Language Disorder and on the quality of life of their families. Methods: the sample consisted of the guardians of eight children diagnosed with DLD. Among caregivers, 87.5% were mothers. The research was carried out through data collection through analysis of parents' reports in interviews and previous telephone contacts, carried out by the extension project team using a questionnaire aimed at the development of language skills and a second related to the quality of life of those responsible, the WHO Quality of Life-Bref Questionnaire (WHOQOL-bref). The results obtained were treated statistically through descriptive analysis to characterize the parents' perception about this period. Results: most guardians (87.5%) observed that the pandemic context affected their children's language development. The general assessment of quality of life and satisfaction with health, as well as all facets of the physical and personal relationships domains, had an average classified as regular. Conclusion: most guardians of children with DLD had negative results in relation to QoL, and perceived a negative impact caused by the interruption of the speech therapy intervention, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, demonstrated by stagnation in the previous therapeutic evolution and emergence of new complaints, specially related to academic learning.

Objetivo: o presente estudo teve como objetivo descrever como os pais de crianças com TDL perceberam o impacto da interrupção da intervenção fonoaudiológica, devido ao distanciamento social na pandemia de COVID-19, e caracterizar sua qualidade de vida neste período. Métodos: a amostra foi composta pelos responsáveis de oito crianças diagnosticadas com TDL que eram atendidas em um projeto de extensão universitária. Para responder aos objetivos da pesquisa foram consideradas as respostas obtidas dos pais em um questionário elaborado especificamente para esse fim e um segundo relacionado à qualidade de vida dos responsáveis, o WHO Quality of Life-Bref Questionnaire (WHOQOL-bref). Os resultados obtidos foram tratados estatisticamente por meio de análise descritiva. Resultados: a maioria dos responsáveis (87,5%) observou que a pandemia afetou o desenvolvimento da linguagem de seus filhos. A avaliação geral sobre a qualidade de vida e a satisfação com a saúde, bem como todas as facetas dos domínios físico e de relações pessoais tiveram média classificada como regular.
