Resumo:The Brazilian civil construction market often seeks to reinvent itself and launch new technologies to make life easier for those on the construction site. However, these innovations are often not implemented effectively due to the lack of knowledge of these techniques and the comfort of the builders to always apply the same technique that has been in use for decades. In this context, the Light Steel Frame construction method emerges as one of these innovations, presenting several advantages in execution times, in the generation of waste, in the cleaning of the site, as it is a dry construction process and even in terms of construction costs. Thus, this work aims to introduce the Light Steel Frame system, comparing it with the most used construction methodology in Brazil, of conventional brickwork, and to show that this is a viable alternative for the solution of some of the construction problems. In order to reach the objective of the work, a research was carried out in the bibliography to support the comparison, analyzing results of executions of works using the two methodologies. From this comparison and analysis of the results, it was possible to point out advantages and disadvantages of each system and conclude on the viability of the Light Steel Frame system.
