| Resumo: | This work is about a long television reportage on the teacher, researcher, writer, folklorist, lecturer Gutenberg Medeiros Costa, 63 years old, a remarkable man from Rio Grande do Norte. In the municipality of Nísia Floresta, just over 40 km from Natal, after retiring, he conceived an old dream: to found, with his collection of books, a library open to the community. The report comprises interviews with him, as well as bibliographic research on folklore and RN’s culture, cultural and literary journalism. His passion for popular culture dates back to his childhood, when he had his first contacts with coconut workers and viola singers, during vacation periods, in Pendências/RN. Due to the relevance of his work in folklore research, Gutenberg Costa has already been recognized for his efforts by other notable artists from Rio Grande do Norte. In this research, bibliographic research was used, which consists of an in-depth analysis of theoretical and scientific materials available online |
