Due to its high cost and low portability, the development of low-cost equipment is suggested. Objective: To assess the balance of resources with stroke through a low-cost device and to correlate its results with clinical scales. Method: This is an observational and cross-sectional study with post-stroke patients from the Clínica School of Physioterapy FACISA/UFRN. In the clinical evaluation, the Mini Mental State Examination, Functional Ambulation Categories (FAC), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Modified Rankin Scale (mRS) and Fugl-Meyer Physical Performance Scale and platform adjustment were used. Low-cost, named GameBalance, developed by the study's collaborators. Results: 10 participants with a median age of 63.50 years, of both sexes, were evaluated, being 6 with left hemiparesis and 5 of ischemic origin. Two were excluded from the study for not meeting the inclusion criteria. There was a significant, negative and strong proof between the Gamebalance-NPG – Modified Rankin Scale (mRS), and a negative proof between the Gamebalance-TEMPO-seg with the Gamebalance-NPG. Conclusion: The present study showed the functioning and low-cost treatment system (platform and patients) for evaluation of low-cost (platform and patients) and low-cost stroke treatment system. In addition, with the development of collaboration from another non-federal institution and construction of equipment that have mechanisms, the study can improve the adaptation of patients to estimates and treatments.

Introdução: O Déficit de equilíbrio é um dos comprometimentos que afetam a independência funcional de indivíduos pós-Acidente Vascular Cerebral (AVC). O uso de tecnologias com realidade virtual (RV), plataformas de força e games vem sendo utilizados para avaliar equilíbrio. Por possuir alto custo e baixa portabilidade, sugere-se o desenvolvimento de equipamentos de baixo custo. Objetivo: Avaliar o equilíbrio de indivíduos com AVC através de um equipamento de baixo custo, e correlacionar seus resultados com escalas clínicas. Método: Trata-se de um estudo observacional e transversal, com pacientes pós- AVC provenientes da Clínica Escola de Fisioterapia da FACISA/UFRN. Na avaliação clínica foram utilizados o Mini-Exame do Estado Mental (MEEM), Functional Ambulation Categories (FAC), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Escala Modificada de Rankin (mRS) e Escala de Desempenho Físico de Fugl-Meyer e o equilíbrio através da plataforma de baixo custo, nomeada de GameBalance, desenvolvida pelos colaboradores do estudo. Resultados: Foram avaliados 10 participantes com idade mediana de 63,50 anos, de ambos os sexos, sendo 6 com hemiparesia a esquerda e 5 de origem isquêmica. Dois foram excluídos do estudo por não completarem os critérios de inclusão. Houve uma correlação significativa, negativa e com força de correlação boa entre a Gamebalance-EQUILÍBRIO% e mRS, e uma correlação negativa entre a Gamebalance-TEMPO-seg com a Gamebalance-Número de pontos ganhos (NPG). Conclusão: O presente estudo mostrou uma correlação inversa significativa e boa com o mRS, sugerindo que o sistema de baixo custo (plataforma e jogo) podem ser ferramentas de grande potencial clínico para avaliação e tratamento de pacientes com AVC.
