Resumo:The preference and tolerance of physical exercise have a direct relation with the student's adherence to physical activity, since this requires an intensity that is more pleasant and pleasurable. Thus, the objective of this study was to analyze the relationship between exercise preference and tolerance (PRETIE-Q) and affective responses (RA) in adults practicing collective gymnastics in a moderate and vigorous intensity session. We had a sample of thirty-one adults (77.4% female) classified as overweight and physically active. They have undergone seven encounters. Among them, initial probing regarding preference and tolerance; signature of the Free and Informed Consent Term, memory anchoring of the Subjective Perception of Effort (PSE) and the affective Response (RA); simple anthropometric evaluation, application of questionnaires (PRETIE-Q, IPAQ, Sociodemographic); obtaining the resting frequency (HRrepouso). Soon after the participants were submitted to two sessions of aerobic gymnastics, being one in moderate intensity and another vigorous (based on PSE, Borg. (6- 20)). During the two gymnastics sessions, RA (+ 5 / -5) and HR (bpm) were measured every 5 minutes. The normality of the data was verified and the Spearman correlation was used with an established level of significance of p <0.05. There was a moderate negative correlation between the preference scale and body mass. (r = -0.45 and p = 0.013), and a large negative correlation between the tolerance scale and the moderate intensity affect (r = -0.47 and p = 0.013).The results of our study showed no correlation with the preference and the perception of pleasure in the moderate and vigorous sessions demonstrate that individuals with greater body mass have a low preference for vigorous activities and participants with a high tolerance to exercise have a lower perception of pleasure during the session of moderate intensity in an aerobics class.
