Resumo:Interoceptive accuracy is described as an objective measure that quantifies interindividual variations in the detection of bodily sensations. According to the Somatic Marker Hypothesis, conscious and unconscious visceral changes interact with emotions and influence decision-making processes, and ultimately, behaviors. Several studies have shown a relationship between interoceptive accuracy and the practice of physical activities. This study aimed to verify the correlation between interoceptive accuracy and the level of physical activity in adults. The sample consisted of 46 apparently healthy individuals, classified by the level of physical activity into G1 (sedentary and insufficiently active, n = 18, age = 23.0 ± 8.5, BMI = 22.02 ± 2.02, IA = 0.7575 ± 0.3188) and G2 (active and very active, n = 28, age = 22.5 ± 5.00, BMI = 23.15 ± 2.99, IA = 0.60 ± 0.36). There was no significant correlation between interoceptive accuracy values and physical activity level groups. The findings show that interoceptive accuracy has no relation to the level of physical activity or the intensity of the activities performed. Active behavior does not seem to be influenced by an isolated factor, but by a set of factors
