Resumo:For over 500 years, in Italy, began the history of ballet. At the beginning of the Romantic period, the physical dancers was more curvy. After half of that period, the standards have changed to a more athletic physique. Classical ballet is full of rules where in addition to all the technical requirements still exist bodily requirements. The dancers must be thin, long legs, bent legs and not be too high. This study has the objective of this study is to discuss the physical standards required of classical ballet with body patterns Natal city dancers, what it entails on a day-to-day the same, and that physical education can contribute to based on this discussion. The research is descriptive qualitative approach. The instrument for data collection was an interview with 10 dancers of two Natal ballet schools, consisting of open questions. The analysis method was based interpretative having the experience of the researcher and the theoretical framework. It was concluded that these body patterns are unfavorable to the world of dance and that despite the respondents do not report having suffered from this, many other dancers pose serious problems such as eating disorders and emotional disorders.
