Resumo:The School of Public Health of the State of Maranhão (ESP/MA) focuses on the training and qualification of SUS health workers, developing, among other strategies, training, education and professional improvement programs. In the context of this institutional mission, from the perspective of Permanent Education in Health (EPS) and the context of the new Coronavirus pandemic, ESP/MA offered the hybrid modality (in person and emergency remote teaching) for the completion of the Technical course of the Community Agent of Health. Thus, the objective was to evaluate the effectiveness of the hybrid formation of the technical course of the community health agent offered by the School of Public Health of Maranhão from the students' point of view. For that, a descriptive study with a quantitative approach was developed, with a non-probabilistic sample of 86 students, estimated in a universe of 249 students (degree of confidence of 95% and margin of error of 9%). Data on the characterization of the socio-demographic profile, time in the profession, knowledge and difficulties encountered in monitoring classes online and satisfaction with the course were collected using a Google forms® questionnaire and analyzed descriptively. Most respondents were between 40 and 60 years of age (72.9%), with at least 10 years of professional experience (96.5%). Despite the long period of experience and a significant contingent over 40 years, transient generation of information and communication technologies, there was a positive evaluation of the course without reporting difficulties with hybrid teaching and indicating the contribution of the course content in his performance as a Community Health Agent. This study sought to help the continuous improvement of training processes for the Unified Health System (SUS), discussing the challenges of implementing hybrid education, which can contribute to reducing digital barriers, especially in municipalities with a predominance of rural areas. Such locations would be potential beneficiaries of the post-pandemic growing hybrid modality of COVID-19 in continuing and permanent education processes.
