Currently in Brazil, more than half of the Internal Electricity Supply is the result of renewable energy, with emphasis on the state of Rio Grande do Norte (RN), which is the leader in eolian production in the country and has good rates of generation of solar energy. Given this, trying to understand how the dynamics that involve these productions occur, this case study has as main objective to understand the perception that the residents of the municipality of Areia Branca (RN) have in relation to the presence of eolian and solar energy projects in the city. For this, we use the quali-quanti methodological approach (qualitative and quantitative). Among the results, we can see that the opinion of the population, in relation to renewable energy projects, differs between positive and negative aspects, it was also identified the consequent environmental impacts of energy projects, and that these impacts are not perceived by most of the interviewees. Este Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (TCC) aborda a temática das fontes renováveis de energia como alternativa sustentável de geração de eletricidade em vista da matriz sustentada pelos combustíveis fósseis, que impacta o meio ambiente e fortalece as mudanças climáticas. Atualmente no Brasil, mais da metade da Oferta Interna de Energia Elétrica (OIEE) é resultado de energias renováveis, com destaque para o estado do Rio Grande do Norte (RN) que é líder em produção eólica no país e possui bons índices de geração de eletricidade com relação a energia solar. Diante disso, procurando entender como ocorre as dinâmicas que envolvem estas produções, este estudo de caso tem como objetivo principal compreender a percepção que os moradores do município de Areia Branca (RN) apresentam em relação à presença dos empreendimentos de energia eólica e solar na cidade. Para isso, utilizamos a abordagem metodológica quali-quanti (qualitativa e quantitativa).
