Initially, the production of types was studied, from it’s beginnings to the transformations that it has undergone with the advance of technology. Then, we became aware of the process of producing a type as a digital file, as well as the objectives and subjectives parameters that the types have. It was also made an overview of the history and artistic production of Frida and the relationship she acquired over the years with feminism.Based by Bonsiepe’s (1984) macro methodology, combined with Falcão’s (2014) approach in the realization of the microphases, this project conceived Frieda, a two-version display font, loaded with the personality and work features of the painter. Este projeto se propôs criar uma fonte tipográfica inspirada na vida e obra da pintora Frida Kahlo como uma maneira de contribuir com a inserção de mulheres na área da tipografia e valorizar a memória e a obra da pintora latino-americana, tida como um ícone feminista nos últimos tempos. Inicialmente foi estudada a produção de tipos desde os primórdios e as transformações que a mesma sofreu com o avanço da tecnologia. Em seguida, foi tomado conhecimento do processo de produção de uma fonte como arquivo digital, bem como parâmetros objetivos e subjetivos que os tipos possuem. Foi também realizado um apanhado sobre a história e produção artística de Frida e a relação que ela adquiriu ao longo dos anos com o feminismo.
