| Resumo: | This project proposes to create a typeface inspired by the life and work of
the painter Frida Kahlo as a way to contribute to the insertion of women
in the area of tipography, and value the memory of the Latin American’s
painter work, know as a feminist icon. Initially, the production of
types was studied, from it’s beginnings to the transformations that
it has undergone with the advance of technology. Then, we became
aware of the process of producing a type as a digital file, as well as the
objectives and subjectives parameters that the types have. It was also
made an overview of the history and artistic production of Frida and
the relationship she acquired over the years with feminism.Based by
Bonsiepe’s (1984) macro methodology, combined with Falcão’s (2014)
approach in the realization of the microphases, this project conceived
Frieda, a two-version display font, loaded with the personality and work
features of the painter. |
