Resumo:Distance Learning has been increasing exponentially in the country. Technological advance and easy access to information has modified this way of transmitting knowledge. Given this current perspective, it’s even more clear the need to professionalize those who work directly on the creation of solutions for the electronic learning. Because the quality control of these materials must be exceptional, due the fact student and teacher are separated by time/space. Therefore besides creating material for Distance Learning, it’s also possible, through design, to evaluate the existing materials and offer improvements. These evaluations can be done in many ways including involving users. In light of this, the present work proposes an evaluation method of usability with participatory approach, and apply it to registering and first access on SENAI Distance Learning (EAD). For this purpose, theoretical fundamentals such as: Instructional Design, Distance Learning, Interaction Design, User Centered Design and others were studied. The methodology elaborated was based on tools from Participatory Design: collaborative evaluation, informal conversation with users and focal group. All the tools include the users on the evaluative process. After, ergonomical analysis were done on the collected data, which allowed recommendations based on, especially, the fundamentals of visual language. At last, the evaluation provided improvements to the studied Virtual Environment of Learning (AVA), and made possible an in-depth research about participatory methodology.
