Resumo:The practice of playing video games has been turning into an increasingly more common activity in our current society. However, the results of its effects on behavioral and neurobiological aspects are still debated frequently. The goal of this study is to investigate the influence of the pandemic on the dreams of gamers in the Covid-19 pandemic context. The study counted on the elaboration and application of a formulary composed of questions with the intention of characterizing 22 players, types of games and the influence on their dreams. The results show that the games are mainly used by males between the ages of 18 and 30. The most played genres were FPS and RPG. There was an increase in the number of hours played in 43% of the accounts. A considerable amount of the participants (77%) has dreamed about games at some point, however, only a minority of 14% showed an increase in this kind of dream during the period of the pandemic. The increase of hours played in the gaming routine might be related to the condition of social isolation faced by individuals during the Covid-19 pandemic. Regarding its effects on dreams, it is necessary to carry out other studies which might make possible to understand the effects of electronic games on dreams and neurobiological aspects.
