Size, texture, and ambient light intensity are some of the variables that can influence the detection of colored objects. This study examined the influence of chromatic and achromatic cues in the detection of naturalistic stimuli by human dichromat and trichromat. The stimuli used consisted of cubes and balls of American paste that varied in size and texture; in addition, three different levels of brightness were used. In total, 23 participants participated in the experiment and had their detection latencies recorded and compared using non-parametric statistical tests, Friedman and Mann-Whitney test. All participants improved their performance when items were grouped, demonstrating that stimuli that exceeded areas of the fovea were more quickly detected, corroborating with other studies that assessed extended field interaction in humans. 2020-04-21T21:04:01Z 2022-05-25T11:33:40Z 2020-04-21T21:04:01Z 2022-05-25T11:33:40Z 2018-11-13 bachelorThesis 2014088014 SCHIRMER, Sofia Coradini.
