Resumo:The Worker's Health Reference Centers (CEREST) regarding work processes as an element of the health/disease process and surveillance of are understood as centers of care social determination of the the health of workers. Thus, assuming the role of techni cal, scientific , and supervisory support in the relationship between Health and Work. In the city of Caicó, CEREST is one of the learning scenarios of the Multiprofessional Residency Program in Primary Care (PRMAB). In this space, part of the Unified Heal th System (SUS) in the IV Health Region of Rio Grande do Norte, residents are offered activities under the interprofessional preceptorship of the workers of this health instrument. This work aims to analyze the perception of CEREST workers about their perf ormance in the service and as preceptors in PRMAB. This is qualitative, descriptive, and exploratory research. For data collection, we have chosen a semistructured interview divided into two parts: i) characterization of CEREST professionals/preceptors, i i) open questions to produce narratives to be analyzed through thematic content analysis. Based on the narratives, it was possible to construct three categories: Knowledge and Preparation to work in Occupational Health; Residency x Preceptorship: perceptio ns, weaknesses , and potentialities and; The Health of Workers: CEREST as the organizer of the actions for in the Unified Health System . The workersthe health of workers preceptors present in their narratives a theoretical knowledge about the health of the worker and preceptorship, but that does not materialize in the work routine as a practice. By emphasizing the precarious working condition of CEREST, they justify that they do not feel safe acting preceptors, although they emphasize the importance of r as esidents in the development of these actions. Not feeling prepared is directly related to the lack of operationalization of the attributions and competences of the CEREST worker. Contradictorily, they do not believe that the PRMAB has produced changes in t he work process in this SUS instrument. It is concluded that CEREST, based in the city of Caicó, has been going through a process of institutional dismantling over time, influencing the working conditions of health professionals. From the insertion of PRMA B in this instrument, it was possible to perceive weaknesses and strengths that must be assessed by workers, Municipal Health Council, Regional Intermanagers Commission (CIR), and the Public Ministry of Labor, in order to fulfill the technical, social, and political function or the CEREST that, ultimately, guarantees the right to health for workers in the IV Health Region/RN.
