Resumo: | History curriculums in elementary schools have historically treated the role oflocal history as
less important. Often worked as a picturesque element, other times not even mentioned, the
local history has been one ofthe weakest points of the History discipline in basic education.
The purpose ofthis study is to contribute proposing an approach that shows how it is possible
to work with local history in the classroom and, at the same time, present methodological
paths for the creation, in the school, of a source repository on local history, starting a work of
creating a school archive with these sources. The work is divided into three parts: the first part
presents the author's life trajectory, which explains how his links with local history were
established. In the second part, the great work spaces are presented: the State School Myriam
Coeli and the Lagoa Azul neighborhood. In the third part, the guidelines that guide the
elaboration of a didactic material produced on local history are outlined, therefore, fulfilling
the requirement of ProfHistória for completing the course. After the final considerations, an
Appendix will be presented containing the didactic material, which is the product of the
dissertation. It is, in this case, “Os envelopes da Clio”, which consist of a box containing four
envelopes, each one organized around a theme related to local history. Based on the theme, a
workshop and a series of activities are proposed to be developed by the teachers with their
students. The envelopes were organized to be applied with teachers. |
