It is one of the last remnants of the Atlantic Forest in Rio Grande do Norte State , and is an important refuge for wildlife and in the maintenance of the water tables of the city of Natal. The “Bosque dos Namorados” is a green area, for public use, with trees that reach up to 35 m in height. It is an important area both as a remnant of Atlantic Forest, for Natal citizens. This area, was the object of this study between July and November 2018. In it, 18 quadrats of 25 m x 25 m (625 m²) were distributed, an area equivalent to 11.250 m². In each quadrat, for all trees above 1,5m height, diameter at breast height (DBH), trunk color and type of foliage were accessed. In total, 863 individuals were sampled, of which 111 were identified in 16 species. The more abundant species was Coccoloba gigantifolia with 24.32% of the identified individuals. Criado em 1977 e reconhecido como Patrimônio Ambiental da Humanidade pela UNESCO, o Parque Estadual Dunas do Natal ”Jornalista Luiz Maria Alves" (PEDN), é o segundo maior parque urbano do Brasil. É um dos últimos remanescentes da Mata Atlântica na sua porção Potiguar, e sendo importante refúgio da vida selvagem e na manutenção dos lençóis freáticos da cidade do Natal. O Bosque dos Namorados é uma área muito arborizada, de uso público, com árvores que chegam até 35 m de altura. É uma área importante tanto para a Mata Atlântica como para a recreação da cidade do Natal, e foi objeto deste estudo entre julho e novembro de 2018. Nele foram distribuídos 18 quadrats de 25 m x 25 m (625 m²), área equivalente a 11.250 m². Em cada quadrat, para todos os indivíduos com altura maior que 1,5 m, foram feitas as medidas de altura, diâmetro na altura do peito (DAP), coloração do tronco e tipo de folhagem. Foram amostrados 863 indivíduos, dos quais 111 foram identificados em 16 espécies.
