Resumo:Objective: To evaluate Pharmaceutical Care (AF) in Caicó, RN state, Brazil, by using indicators. Methodology: Transversal and descriptive study performed from September 2016, to March 2017, through elaboration of an instrument with 12 indicators applied to the Pharmaceutical Supply Center and 34 indicators applied to 23 Basic Units of Health (UBS) pharmacies. Results: The city has its own REMUME, but it does not own a Therapeutic Pharmacy Commission. No pharmacy from those units had a pharmacist, Standard Operational Procedure, nor did they have supply-handling records. Community health agents (35%), nurses (74%) and nursing assistants (100%), have been doing medicine dispensing in UBS pharmacies. Only 65% of the pharmacies owned air conditionings and no one presented humidity and temperature controlling maps. Conclusion: Data reveal that AF in Caicó city is still incipient and requires more responsibility and commitment from municipal managers in order to provide services effectively.
