description The Mathematics is widely used in our daily lives, and is of great relevance in the school curriculum, however, most students in basic education have many difficulties in the discipline, especially in high school. Therefore, this work aims to analyze some of the causes of difficulties in mathematics learning that high school students present. To this end, we have, among other questions, the following research question: what are the possible causes of the difficulties of high school students in mathematics, and what contributions can the practices developed in teaching projects bring to help students with these difficulties? The specific objectives that guided our study are to understand from the student's point of view how he interprets difficulties in mathematics, and proposes a practical intervention using resources that can help students' mathematical learning in the classroom. In the construction of the data, a questionnaire was applied to 50 high school students from the State School in Full Time José Augusto (EETIJA) in the city of Caicó - RN. In our conclusions, we understand, considering the entire research process, that there needs to be a greater dialogue between the teacher and the student, a reflection on the part of the teachers about the teaching methods used, and a constant search to improve teaching. mathematics and analyze the deficit in elementary school subjects.

A matemática é muito utilizada no nosso cotidiano, e é de grande relevância no currículo escolar, porém, a maioria dos alunos da educação básica apresentam muitas dificuldades na disciplina, principalmente no ensino médio. Assim sendo, este trabalho objetiva analisar algumas das causas das dificuldades na aprendizagem matemática que alunos do ensino médio apresentam. Para tanto, temos, entre outros questionamentos, a seguinte pergunta de pesquisa: quais as possíveis causas das dificuldades dos alunos do ensino médio na disciplina de matemática, e, que contribuições as práticas desenvolvidas em projetos de ensino podem trazer para auxiliar os alunos com estas dificuldades? Os objetivos específicos que nortearam a realização de nosso estudo tratam de compreender sob o ponto de vista do aluno como este interpreta as dificuldades em matemática, e propõe uma intervenção prática utilizando recursos que possam auxiliar na aprendizagem matemática dos alunos em sala de aula. Na construção dos dados foi elaborado um questionário aplicado com 50 alunos do ensino médio da Escola Estadual em Tempo Integral José Augusto (EETIJA) na cidade de Caicó – RN.
