Resumo:This study aims to understand the effects of telework in the public sector, inserted in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, from the perception of employees in the Internal Affairs Department of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Rio Grande do Norte. This is basic qualitative research, with the application of ten semi-structured interviews with managers and servers in the investigated sector. Through thematic analysis, it was possible to classify the positive and negative aspects of the telework experience during the pandemic, as well as to identify similar and different aspects when relating the perspectives of the interviewees and the theoretical knowledge researched in the literature. The main perceived positive effects were the improvement of quality of life, flexibility of schedules and increased productivity, generating satisfaction in relation to telework. On the other hand, there was a relative difficulty in adapting to the modality of telework. Although most of the effects were positive, it is possible to infer that there was a minimization of the existing negative effects, when compared with the literature on the subject.
