Resumo: | The lean healthcare methodology has been applied in healthcare institutions as a effective tool
for process management and waste reduction, focusing on the review of processes based on
three organizational principles: focus on the patient, time and value. This methodology enables
the optimization of processes, with the use of several tools, seeking continuous improvement.
Thus, this research aims to explore optimization opportunities in the management of Hospital
Universitario Onofre Lopes – HUOL pharmaceutical inventory using a lean healthcare
approach. A study of the entities and dynamics of the flows in question was carried out, in order
to identify the main system wastes and the appropriate improvements to solve them. posteriorly,
the improvements was submitted to a multi-criteria decision analysis model, who supported the
decision-maker with the ordering of action plans to be implemented according to the conditions
and needs of the sector. The relevance of this work is sustained when considering that in health
care services, quality should be considered a factor of continuous improvement, mainly due to
the high complexity characteristic of inventory management processes in the hospital
environment. The development of this research, make possible to propose improvements
aligned with the main needs of the system, directing the sector towards a more assertive and
efficient optimization process. In addition, was observed more deeply the peculiarities involved
in the implementation processes of lean approaches in hospital systems, showing its potential
for optimization for complex systems, besides ways os to eliminate wastes and reduce
disruptions in the supply and storage of supplies. |
