Resumo:With the advancement of the new coronavirus pandemic around the world, and the increase in cases of contagion and deaths in Brazil, a state of quarantine was decreed, in an attempt to stop a contagion curve that was on the rise. As a result, thousands of Brazilian students had their face-to-face classes paralyzed. Thus, schools received guidance to use technological tools to continue classes remotely, with each one physically separated from the other. From this reality, Google Meet comes into play, which is the object of this research, carried out with 106 higher education students, between 01/13/2022 and 01/20/2022. Google Meet is nothing more than an information system, created to be a video communication service that, in the face of the reality of the pandemic, has become useful in the difficult task of connecting students and teachers, allowing education, even with all barriers and difficulties present in a country of intense social inequality like Brazil, to reach the homes of isolated students. Thus, this research aims to evaluate the performance of Google Meet in the educational field, in the face of this new and worrying reality. As a result, system improvements related to layout, individual configurations, system optimizations and call time were proposed. Therefore, it is worth mentioning that for students, Google Meet is not able to replace face-to-face classes, and that for most, its use was a good idea, given the circumstances brought about by the new coronavirus, however nothing replaces interaction. physical, real, face-to-face teaching.
