Resumo:Investigate resilience and its relationship with the quality of life of people with acquired physical disabilities. A descriptive-exploratory study with a quantitative approach, developed with 69 people with physical disabilities. The average resilience found in the population was 138.26; among the domains of quality of life, the lowest averages referred to the physical (M = 58.69) and environmental (M = 51.90) aspects. As for the relationship between resilience and quality of life, the data showed a positive association between these variables, indicating that if one is high, the other also increases. Resilience presents itself as a factor that strongly influences the quality of life of people with acquired physical sequelae, having an intrinsic correlation with their psychological well-being. Resilience seems to compensate for losses suffered by disability through gains in other areas, allocating reserves to suppress negative or pathological effects and improve quality of life
