Resumo:This work aims to describe processes of self-management, identified through participant observation in the organization Engenheiros Sem Fronteiras Núcleo Natal/RN, in order to qualify it in the light of elements of social management. For the execution of the research, a work of records was carried out during the period of one month with systematization of self-managed practices according to the literature on the subject of self-management. Participant observation was used to record the findings and further analysis. Data were collected in four meetings of different scopes – two sectorial, one of directors and one general meeting. In all cases, it was possible to witness elements of self-management, which were manifested in the form of democratic, participatory management, deliberative citizenship and horizontalization. It was noticed a posture of openness of the leadership to the development of the led, with an organizational culture based on parity between the members and on the cooperation relationship.
