Resumo:The university food environment has a strong impact on food choices, and as it is considered a health-promoting space, it requires special attention. This article aims to identify the measurement methods of the university food environment. The methodological process consisted of the bibliographic survey, which took place in November 2021, in the Embase, PubMed, SciELO and Web Of Science databases, using the descriptors in Portuguese and English: food environment, food desert, food swamp, food oasis and university. The stages of article selection included exclusion of duplicates, reading titles and abstracts and full analysis. A total of 203 articles were screened and 11 met the inclusion criteria, which comprised the publication period from 2009 to 2021. After descriptive and comparative analysis, it was found that there is no methodological consensus to measure the university food environment. With emphasis on the instruments used, few studies used validated tools, but made adaptations according to the particularities of the environment. Similarity was observed in the evaluated food environments, where university campuses do not offer healthy food options. The findings in this review point out methodological gaps to measure the university food environment.
