Resumo:The use of solid lubricating films allows operations that do not harm the environment, in addition to be an excellent choice in the control of wear and friction under certain operating conditions. Thus, this work aims to carry out a study on plasma deposition in cathodic cage of thin films of MoS2 on AISI 1020 steel substrates. From an adaptation of the cathodic cage, the samples were treated at temperatures of 300 °C, 350 ° C and 400°C. After the treatments, they were characterized by X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, pin-disk tribological assay and topographic analysis by roughness. In general, the results indicated success in the deposition of molybdenum disulfide in all treated samples, in addition to a significant reduction in wear, however, it was not possible to verify a reduction in the coefficient of friction in relation to the untreated substrate.
