Resumo:The present research sought to analyze the possibility of correlation between the cases of arboviruses and the complaints of wastewater made by the population in the city of Natal/RN. At the same time, it investigated which areas had the highest concentrations of cases or complaints in order to explain the possible causes for the emergence of both according to their numbers. For that, Pearson's Correlation was used to verify the connection between the variables cases of arboviruses and complaints of wastewater. It brought a perspective on how the sewage system interferes with the number of cases of arboviruses in the city. In addition to identifying the sociodemographic profile of administrative areas and neighborhoods and how this factor influences the number of complaints made in each area. Methodologically, the research fits as applied, descriptive, exploratory and explanatory, based on bibliographic articles, legislation, books and others. As methodological procedures, the research uses the narrative review and the hypothetical deductive method and the data collection was carried out within a month at the Secretary of Environment and Urbanism of Natal (SEMURB), at the Municipal Health Department of Natal (SMS), at the Natal Zoonoses Control Center (CCZ) and the SUS Information Technology Department (DATASUS). Coming to the conclusion that there is really a correlation between cases of arboviruses and reports of wastewater, in addition to the fact that there is a gap on the part of the informational population about the possibility of reporting wastewater discharges.
