What makes the sacred give a new spatial dimension related to forms and functions in certain territories of the city, as well as allowing changes in the urban landscape with the presence of new temples. Based on this problem, the present research aims to analyze the dynamics of spatialization of Christian churches in the municipality of Natal-RN, within the scope of the Catholic Church and the Assembly of God. For this, we seek to understand the current religious transition in the country and various conditions of this phenomenon in the Catholic and Evangelical aspects, taking the capital of Potiguar as a spatial cut. For this purpose, secondary data were collected through official portals, tables, graphs and charts were constructed and the QGIS software was used to prepare the maps. In its theoretical framework, among the names worked on, Zeny Rosendhal stands out, a great scholar of the relationship between Geography and Religion through the spatial dimension of the sacred. In terms of results, it stands out at a time when Brazil is going through a process of religious transition, observed in the growth of the Protestant faith to the detriment of the Catholic one, the city of Natal-RN presents a moderate growth of evangelical faithful. Also, it is observed that the spatialization of evangelical temples and consequently Catholic temples are directly linked to historical, social, economic, educational and demographic factors.

As mudanças na denominação de fé cristã da população, refletidas na soberania católica, porém, com forte crescimento evangélico, tem dado ao município de Natal-RN não só uma nova dinâmica religiosa, mas também, um novo processo de organização. O que faz com que o sagrado dê nova dimensão espacial relacionada a formas e funções em determinados territórios da cidade, como também, possibilitam mudanças na paisagem urbana com a presença de novos templos. Com base nessa problemática, a presente pesquisa tem como objetivo analisar a dinâmica de espacialização das igrejas cristãs no município de Natal-RN, no âmbito da Igreja Católica e da Assembleia de Deus. Para isso, busca-se entender a transição religiosa vigente no país e variados condicionantes desse fenômeno na vertente católica e evangélica, tomando como recorte espacial a capital potiguar. Para tanto, foi feito o levantamento de dados secundários através de portais oficiais, construção de tabelas, gráficos, quadros e utilização do software QGIS para elaboração dos mapas. Em seu arcabouço teórico, entre os nomes trabalhados, tem destaque Zeny Rosendhal grande estudiosa da relação Geografia e Religião pela dimensão espacial do sagrado. Em termos de resultados, destaca-se no momento em que o Brasil passa por um processo de transição religiosa, observado no crescimento da fé protestante em detrimento da católica, a cidade de Natal-RN apresenta um crescimento de fiéis evangélicos de forma moderada.
