Therefore, the purpose of this study is to understand the media consumption practices of the theme "mental health" in the largest video platform in the world, Youtube. For this, we carried out a bibliographical research about conceptualizations related to communication and mental health, followed by a documentary research to describe a certain panorama of representations of the agenda in mass media and social media. Finally, we describe and analyze the data obtained from interviews with a semi-structured script applied to seven young potiguares who practice such consumption, concluding that, given the pedagogical character of the media, Youtube is inclined to a psychotherapeutic nature, not officialized, for the audience that participates in this consumption. Os debates sobre saúde mental propagados pela mídia nos evoca a necessidade de investigar a maneira como esses conteúdos estão sendo consumidos. Por isso, o objetivo deste estudo é compreender as práticas de consumo midiático do tema “saúde mental” na maior plataforma de vídeos do mundo, o Youtube. Realizamos, para isso, uma pesquisa bibliográfica acerca de conceitualizações relacionadas à comunicação e saúde mental, seguida de uma pesquisa documental para descrever um certo panorama sobre representações da pauta na mídia de massa e nas mídias sociais.
