Resumo:SARS-CoV2, the virus that causes Covid-19, has caused several infections in the respiratory system and damaged other systems of the human body. Some of the precautions that must be taken in order to avoid being infected by the virus are: social distancing, wearing appropriate masks, constant cleaning and disinfection of hands and surfaces. Cleaning refers to the removal of microorganisms and dirt from surfaces, that is, it does not kill microorganisms, while disinfection refers to the use of chemicals to kill microorganisms on surfaces after cleaning. In this context of the Covid-19 pandemic, hand hygiene with gel alcohol and surfaces with liquid alcohol 70 °INPM has been gaining prominence due to the efficiency and practicality that these products offer. The objective of this work is to present the process of production and quality control of alcohol 70 °INPM and to analyze the effectiveness of this product in the disinfection of fixed surfaces as an alternative to combat the virus that causes Covid-19. For this, 3 batches of liquid alcohol 70 °INPM were manufactured and analyzed. The physical-chemical analyzes performed were: determination of pH, alcohol content and density. The results obtained are in accordance with the alcohol content recommended by the National Health Surveillance Agency, which is 68° to 72 °INPM. Therefore, the quality of the alcohol and the effectiveness of its antiseptic action are guaranteed for the disinfection of inanimate fixed surfaces.
