Resumo: | The following work starts from the premise that abortion is still a criminalized matter treated as a taboo in Brazil. Even among the cases in which the procedure is legally allowed, the debate and information about women's health and reproductive rights are very restrained and not broadly discussed by the media. This monography aims to discuss the role of independent and feminist journalism in that reality, through the exposition and analysis of the independent and feminist media organization called "Revista Azmina", that acts in order to disseminate informations that might be useful when facing those matters that are usually silenced in Brazil, as well as it's contribution on the construction of women's reproductive right's narratives and the struggle to decriminalize abortion. The research was built using the qualitative research methodology and a case study that comprehends an analysis of 10 digital publications, focusing specifically in 4 contents, all related to legal and safe abortion, illegal abortion and women’s reproductive rights. |
