Brazil is ranked the country with the highest number of individuals affected by HTLV-1, with an average of 800,000 carriers. This study aimed to identify the prevalence of HTLV-1/2 infection in pregnant women. This is an Integrative Review, in which a search was carried out in the virtual databases and libraries: PUBMed, BVS, CAPES journal and academic google. The following descriptors were selected: “prevalence”, “HTLV-1/2” and “pregnant”. Of the 481 selected publications, 10 were analyzed after the exclusions of certain productions, according to the previously defined inclusion criteria. Evidence indicates that the effects of the HTLV-1/2 virus in the pregnancy period have been marked vertically, through breastfeeding, birth canal, premature rupture of membranes in infected mothers, a history of stillbirths and newborns with low birth weight . Therefore, it is important for health professionals to know about the symptoms of the HTLV-1/2 virus and for new evidence on the topic to be updated so that they can prevent the worsening of this pathology, intervening in advance through the necessary guidelines and referrals for taking care of the health of the pregnant woman and the fetus. Os vírus linfotrópicos T humanos tipos 1 e 2 (HTLV-1/2) são retrovírus oncogênicos humanos. O Brasil é classificado o país com o maior número de indivíduos afetados pelo HTLV-1, apresentando em média 800.000 portadores. Objetivou-se identificar a prevalência da infecção por HTLV-1/2 em gestantes. Trata-se de uma Revisão Integrativa, em que se realizou uma busca nas bases de dados e biblioteca virtuais: PUBMed, BVS, Medline Complete e SciELO. Foram selecionados os descritores: “prevalence”, “HTLV-1/2” e “pregnant”. Das 345 publicações selecionadas, 9 foram analisadas após as exclusões de determinadas produções, segundo os critérios de inclusão previamente definidos. As evidências apontam que os efeitos do vírus HTLV-1/2 no período gravídico tem sido marcado pela via vertical, por meio da amamentação, canal de parto, ruptura prematura de membranas em mães infectadas, história de natimortos e neonatos com baixo peso ao nascer. Diante disso, se faz importante o conhecimento dos profissionais de saúde sobre a sintomatologia do vírus HTLV-1/2 e estejam atualizados as novas evidências referente ao tema para que possam prevenir o agravo dessa patologia, intervindo antecipadamente por meio de orientações e encaminhamentos necessários para cuidar da saúde da gestante e do feto. 2022-02-15T18:39:27Z 2022-02-15T18:39:27Z 2021-12-17 bachelorThesis SOUZA, Graciane Pereira de.
